[edit] Electoral Systems

• Members of the Scottish Parliament are elected using the Additional Member System (AMS).
• Members of the United Kingdom Parliament are elected by First Past the Post.
• Scotlands MEPs are elected using the D'Hondt Method.
• Local Councillors are currently elected by First Past the Post. However from 2007 they will be elected by Single Transferable Vote.

Fairshare is Scotland's Campaign to change the way local councillors are elected, the campaign has succeeded and from 2007 Single Transferable Vote will be used.
