Electoral reform is the process of improving the electoral procedures of a nation or nations.


Typically electoral reform campaigns will seek to:

  • Change the voting system.
  • Change Voting Age or other eligibility requirements
  • Remove voting rights from unelected officials
  • Increase the accountability of elected officials
  • Improve voting equipment
  • Reduce gerrymandering
  • Defend the secrecy and security of the ballot
  • Propose changes to electoral law
